Avitae, Naturally Caffeinated Purified Water That Tastes Like Nothing
Submitted by Connie on March 26, 2010 – 11:49 am

While I was at the Disney Social Media Mom’s Conference in February I noticed several people drinking what looked like bottled water, only I’ve never seen the brand before. The bottles were silver and shaped in a tall rounded, triangular shape. I asked around and found out it was Avitae (ah-vee-tay), a caffeinated water. At the time I didn’t think much of it, but shortly after I returned home I decided to try to break the diet soda habit. I immediately thought of it and contacted the company via Twitter and they graciously sent me a few bottles.
I’ve been drinking diet soda since the mid-70’s. Yes, that’s a really long time. The worst part is that diet soda is bad for me, I know that, but it’s the hardest thing to quit – quitting smoking was easier for me. This time I wanted to quit without the additional issues brought on by caffeine headaches. In the past I’ve tried caffeine pills and they upset my stomach. I don’t drink coffee or tea, so soda is the only way caffeine slips into my diet.

What is Avitae? Simply purified water and natural caffeine. It doesn’t have colors, calories, sweeteners, flavors, or artificial ingredients. How’s it taste? Like water. But, the caffeine, about the same amount as in a 12 oz soda, doesn’t irritate my stomach. My only complaint is that bottled water, any bottled water, is not environmentally-friendly because of the single-serving size. I’d love to see them go to a 2-liter or gallon bottle that’s more earth-friendly.
I’m now a fan, but sadly it’s not sold anywhere near me. I’ve signed up to be an Avitae Insider so they’ll let me know if it starts being carried by my local grocery stores. Until then, I’m still slugging down the diet soda.

Follow Avitae on Twitter or check out their website for more information and to find out if it’s available in your area.
